The Voice Behind the Studio

Katy Stevens has been a passionate music educator since 1989, specializing in private instruction for voice.

Raised in a musical family in Central Ohio, Katy began performing at the age of three. She studied vocal performance at the University of Akron and holds a bachelor’s degree in Worship Arts from West Coast Bible College and Seminary. Katy has contributed to several recording projects and released her own CD, Finding Me, in 2006. A highlight of her performance career was singing the National Anthem at a Baltimore Orioles game in June 2018.

Now based in Baltimore, Maryland, Katy runs a thriving private music studio. Over the years, she has taught more than 800 students in voice, piano, ukulele, music theory, and flute. She is also a regular instructor at musical theatre camps and workshops, and she currently serves as the music director at Salem United Methodist Church in Upper Falls, Maryland.

In addition to her teaching, Katy is one-half of Epic Emcees, an entertainment brand she co-founded with her best friend, Mo. Together, they create engaging experiences that help people feel seen, heard, and connected.

An unabashed extrovert, Katy finds joy in laughter, board and card games, live theatre, improv, crafting, escape rooms and copious amounts of coffee and chocolate. She has been married to her husband, Matt, since 1992, and they are proud parents to three young adult sons—Joshua, Micah and Jacob—and one son, Caleb, who lives in heaven and their hearts. Katy also enjoys the loyal companionship of her three crazy dogs: Raiven, Boh, and Nalah.
